Workshop on Legged and Multi-modal Locomotion

The Workshop on Legged and Multi-modal Locomotion is organized by Evangelos G. Papadopoulos, National Technical University of Athens, Greece, Ioannis Poulakakis, University of Delaware, USA, and Dimitris P. Tsakiris, FORTH, Greece.

The workshop aims to present and discuss the state of the art in legged and multimodal locomotion research, from the biological, biomechanical and robotic viewpoints. Research focusing on locomotion in unstructured, rugged and yielding terrain, on sand, on mud and in aquatic environments, on the combination of various modes of locomotion for different environments, as well as on the exploration of the role of compliance in locomotion, will be of particular interest.


Tutorial on UAV Design for Autonomy

A tutorial entitled “UAV Design for Autonomy: Challenges and Enabling Technologies” is organized by George J. Vachtsevanos, Georgia Institute of Technology, and Kimon P. Valavanis, University of Denver. This tutorial presents a survey of the state-of-the-art technologies aimed to improve UAV autonomy attributes, reliability and resilience to extreme operating conditions, environment uncertainty and other disturbances.
